Simplified General Trade/ Storage Licence Policy (Online), 2015
SDMC issues General Trade/Storage Licence to the traders/ establishments for all permitted trade activities running in trade premises as defined under Section 2 (59) of the DMC Act, 1957 and occupations under the jurisdiction of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). It is mandatory for all traders/ establishments to obtain trade/ storage license under Section 417 of the DMC Act, 1957 in the jurisdiction of South DMC.
Keeping in view of public convenience, discussions with the representatives of the various market associations & traders of South DMC area, officers of GNCTD and after extensive deliberations within the Corporation at various levels, it has been decided to further simplify the existing trade/ storage licence policy which could be easier to implement and enforce the General Trade/ Storage Licence Policy. In order to streamline records of trade licence and ensure transparency, all applicants for new Trade/Storage Licences shall get the electronically generated Licence u/s 417 of DMC Act only after submission of complete application alongwith requisite documents, self declaration/ undertaking, without prior verification of documents /site inspection and on receipt of requisite payment.
The new simplified General Trade/Storage Licence Policy (Online), 2015 is more transparent mechanism in tune with the concept of e-biz, use of e-services, citizen centric, ICT enabled policy for enabling the traders to get the license by clicking online from any place convenient to them. The process for granting license is also SMS/ Email integrated and to ensure authenticity of documents through GDTI (Global Document Type Identifier) Technology to facilitate traders.
